5 Amazing Movies Portraying Splendid Teacher Student Relationship : Teacher's Day Special

 " The true teachers are those who help us think for ourselves." These are the words of the great Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who not only served India as it's first Vice President but also was a great philosopher, academic and statesman.To honor him and all the works he had done in his life, every year, in India, 5th of September is celebrated as Teachers' Day.

We all have known teachers in every aspect of our lives, in different forms, who have been our mentor, guide, confidante or friends from time to time. So, on this auspicious day of Teachers' Day, the Cinephilic Eathlete is here, to share with you 5 Awesome (!!!) Movies which shows beautiful Teacher Student relationship , according to us.

So without any further ado, let's jump right in...

5. HICHKI ( IMDb Rating : 7.5 )

Being a class teacher of a group of school students sounds quite easy to us right? WRONG. It can never be easy, specially not when the class teacher is suffering from Tourette syndrome and the group of students in her class are under-privileged and looked down upon by others, which make them to behave rudely with the class teacher. But nobody is perfect. A little help from each other and a little care and love can solve everything, just like it did for Ms. Naina Mathur and Class 9F.

4. HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE ( IMDb Rating : 7.6 )

Well this ought to be a treat for all the Potterheads out here. ( For me too tbh ! ) Though all the books and all other movies of Harry Potter franchise is really good, this one's my favourite. This is because it is from here the truth begins to unfold. We all will miss Dumbledore and we will hate Snape, but it is from here that we understand the reality. And obviously Harry does too. But we see the immense pain Harry and almost all the students and teachers of Hogwarts go through when they loose the very pillar of Hogwarts. 

So if you love your teacher, definitely see this. No, not because you love them, because it's a good movie.

3. DEAD POETS SOCIETY ( IMDb Rating : 8.1 )

Okay I won't lie but this is one of my favourite ( FAVOURITE ) movies till date. 

When you are in a convent all-male school, discipline is a must, specially when you are in Welton Academy, where your parents keep high expectations from you and hopes all you will do all the time is STUDY. But when a teacher like John Keating  walks into your life, even studying is FUN, as it happened for Neil and his friends. This movie clearly depicts that though all teachers aren't friend, some are, teaching us the meaning of  " Carpe Diem". 

This movie is gonna make you smile, laugh, cry and at it the end, be ready to say, " Oh Captain! My Captain!"

2. TAARE ZAMEEN PAR ( IMDb Rating : 8.4 )

Everyone expects their children to be at the top, to achieve things they couldn't achieve themselves, to be the best of the best. But while doing so, they often tend to forget that everyone is a different individual, having their own dreams and desires. 

In this movie we see 8 year old Ishaan Awasthi, who is having skills of high imaginations and artwork, suffering from dyslexia, being depressed and contemplating suicide when he is unable to meet his parents' expectations due to his extremely poor grades. But when the optimistic art teacher Ram Shankar Nikumbh enters in his life, things finally started looking up. 

Watch Ishaan's journey where he is guided by Ram Shankar Nikumbh, from zero to infinity and beyond.

1. WHIPLASH ( IMDb Rating : 8.5 )

Ever seen a love-hate relationship between a teacher and a student which finally changes to love-love types ? You must have. Now, ever seen a dislike-hate relationship between a teacher and a student which finally changes to the mutual respect ? If you haven't, then this is just the one for you! 

Andrew Neiman, a young drummer, who dreams to become a  world-class drummer like Buddy Rich is discovered by the strict conductor and band leader Terence Fletcher. Fletcher pushes him to the very edge Neiman never thought he could reach alone. But this journey was not a bed of roses, specially when the teacher is himself the thorn. 

Watch this yourself to know how.
